Dell Technologies has concluded its arrangement with its former subsidiary VMware for the distribution of VMware products. According to a regulatory filing on Tuesday, Dell informed Broadcom, the current owner of VMware, about the termination of the commercial framework agreement between the two entities.
The agreement, established post-VMware’s 2021 spinoff, stipulated Dell’s continued distribution of VMware’s products and services. Additionally, Dell was to integrate VMware offerings with its own and market them jointly.
Dell emphasised that the agreement allowed either party to terminate the deal in the event of a change in control of the other party. Broadcom, a semiconductor and software company, completed its acquisition of VMware for $69 billion in November.
The terminated agreement facilitated various commercial activities between Dell and VMware, including the distribution of VMware products and services by Dell and collaborative efforts on solutions and go-to-market strategies between the two companies
